You’ll make a difference by

  • You will initiate your PhD journey by developing a deep understanding of the current landscape of autonomous industrial software systems, focusing on their complexities and quality requirements
  • Building upon this foundation, you will design and implement a novel self-evolving architecture for industrial software that includes mechanisms for adaptation, healing, and optimization during operational phases
  • Throughout your research, you will engage in rigorous theoretical investigation and practical application, utilizing advanced AI/ML paradigms such as Reinforcement Learning and Federated Learning to refine adaptation policies and distributed self-awareness
  • Additionally, you will develop metrics and quality parameters to evaluate the performance and limitations of self-evolving capabilities within industrial software systems
  • Lastly, your work will involve extensive programming in Python and exploring the integration of advanced technologies like Retrieval Augmented Generation with Large Language Models to enhance the autonomy and reliability of software evolution
   

Your defining qualities

  • Education: Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field
  • Experience & Skills:
    • Strong foundation in machine learning, autonomous software systems, and software engineering principles
    • Proficiency in Python and experience with relevant AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ways of working: Highly motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conducting independent research and collaborative teamwork
  • Languages: Fluent in English
