Your tasks
The EMEA Compliance Officer plays a critical role in supporting ContiTech’s commitment to ethical business practices and regulatory compliance. This position is responsible for advising on compliance-related matters, delivering training, supporting risk mitigation strategies, and contributing to the development and implementation of compliance programs across the EMEA region.
Risk areas include, but are not limited to antitrust/competition, corruption, data privacy, artificial intelligence, money laundering, and fraud.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Advisory & Risk Mitigation
- Provide timely and practical advice on compliance-related policies and risk areas including business ethics, data privacy, artificial intelligence, antitrust/competition, corruption, money laundering, and fraud.
- Evaluate business risks and compliance concerns, and support the proactive mitigation of these risks in collaboration with Compliance leadership.
- Advise local departments and business units on AI strategy, implementation, and governance, ensuring alignment with global and local regulatory requirements.
Training & Awareness
- Develop and deliver compliance training to employees at all levels, including senior management, through eLearning modules, virtual sessions, and in-person workshops.
- Contribute to the creation of training materials focused on core compliance topics to promote risk awareness and prevention.
- Record and report training attendance and effectiveness metrics to Global Headquarters.
Reporting & Documentation
- Collect and report compliance-related data to Group Compliance leadership, including statistics on advice provided, communication reach, contractual support (e.g., Data Processing Agreements), and training participation.
- Maintain accurate documentation of compliance activities and ensure timely reporting of relevant metrics.
Program Development & Support
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of compliance programs, policies, processes, and manuals.
- Support global compliance initiatives, including policy revisions, project workstreams, practice groups, and training development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to assess and mitigate compliance risks associated with business strategy and operations.
- Collaborate with the Global Compliance Team and other regional officers to ensure consistency and alignment of compliance efforts.
Your profile
- Degree in Business Economics, Legal or comparable
- Proven experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles, preferably within a multinational organization
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in the EMEA region
- Ability to analyze complex regulatory environments and provide actionable guidance
- Experience with AI governance and data protection frameworks is a plus
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), German language skills preferred,; additional languages are an asset
- Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Strategic mindset with attention to detail
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global matrix organization
- Willingness to travel (approx. 30%)
