• Design, build, and maintain end-​to-​end and integration test automation (Playwright or equivalent) that teams can trust every day

• Make automation fast and stable: reduce flaky tests, improve determinism, and optimize execution time to deliver quick feedback in CI

• Increase test coverage with focus on risk and value—prioritize the scenarios that protect customers and the business most

• Integrate and operate test suites in CI/CD pipelines, including reporting, test environments, test data, and clear failure diagnostics

• Work shift-​left with engineering and product: bring quality into discovery, refinement, and design discussions before code is written

• Drive testability and strong acceptance criteria by challenging unclear requirements and aligning on "done” in a measurable way

• Enable developers to test effectively by supporting unit/integration/E2E testing patterns, examples, and reusable building blocks

• Act as a quality partner, not a gatekeeper: unblock teams, make trade-​offs explicit, and help ship confidently and frequently

• Coach and mentor developers and QA engineers on modern testing strategies, tooling, and pragmatic best practices.

• Track and improve quality outcomes using meaningful metrics (defect trends, flake rate, time-​to-​feedback, automation effectiveness) and turn insights into action

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software quality engineering and/or test automation in real-​world product teams

• Strong practical expertise with Playwright (or similar, e.g., Cypress/WebdriverIO) including stable locator strategies, fixtures, and debugging

• Solid understanding of modern web architectures (frontend frameworks, APIs, async behavior, authentication flows, microservices interactions)

• Deep knowledge of testing strategies (test pyramid, risk-​based testing, exploratory thinking, coverage that actually adds confidence)

• Proven experience integrating automation into CI/CD, including pipeline design, parallelization, flaky test handling, and actionable reporting

• Experience in Agile/DevOps environments, comfortable working in short cycles with continuous delivery and shared responsibility

• Strong collaboration skills—you can influence developers and teams without formal authority and communicate clearly with stakeholders

• Coaching mindset: you enjoy enabling others, raising standards, and creating shared ownership of quality across the team

• Analytical and pragmatic approach to finding bottlenecks, diagnosing quality risks, and improving processes step by step

• Fluent in English and German, able to communicate confidently in both languages in daily work
