As Team Leader in Structural Water Engineering based in Essen, you will:

• Lead a multidisciplinary team on exciting projects—from flood protection and retention systems to river renaturation, weirs, hydropower plants, and pumping stations.

• Spearhead resource planning, foster professional growth, and cultivate a collaborative, efficient project culture.

• Navigate complex projects across all HOAI Service phases—from feasibility studies to execution—as the primary liaison for clients.

• Help shape and grow our Essen water engineering division, contributing to strategic growth and innovation.

• Drive new business outreach—acquire projects, expand client relationships, and elevate our market presence.

Who you are?

You're a natural leader with a structured, solution-oriented mindset. More specifically, you bring:

• A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent)

• Proven experience in project or team leadership—preferably in structural water engineering

• Deep understanding of engineering codes, public regulations, and norms

• Passion for mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and owning outcomes

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• Fluent or native-level German proficiency.
