Job Description
Keeps Linux infrastructure secure, stable, and running smoothly, so teams can focus on building instead of firefighting.
Area of responsibility and duties
- Operation, maintenance and continuous optimization of the on-premises cloud as well as other internal project services
- Design, implementation and maintenance of modular Infrastructure-as-Code solutions with Terraform, including planning, status management and versioning.
- Development and maintenance of automation tools using Python, Bash and Ansible
- Operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of Ceph storage systems
- Responsibility for monitoring, observability and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana and Loki
- Application and further development of security fundamentals such as vulnerability analysis, SAST, access controls, 2FA, VPN and network security
- Maintaining documentation and best practices, as well as training new team members
- Supporting other development teams with infrastructure and operational issues
- Definition and monitoring of SLIs, responsibility for SLOs, and coordination of SLAs with relevant stakeholders.
Required technical and professional expertise
- Completed studies in computer science, business informatics, information technology or a comparable field, or comparable technical vocational training with relevant professional experience in the area of networks, infrastructure or DevOps
- A strong "everything-as-code" mindset and a strong focus on automation.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform and Cloud-Init
- Knowledge of OpenStack operation is an advantage.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Helm Charts
- Practical experience with Prometheus and Grafana, especially in the areas of metrics, dashboards, and alerting pipelines.
- Excellent scripting skills in Bash and Python; PowerShell is an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of Linux tools, network technology and databases
- Experience with Git and CI/CD integration
- Passion for optimizing best practices and continuously modernizing the tech stack
- Experience in software development and debugging in at least one programming language
- Analytical, solution-oriented thinking skills as well as a structured and independent work style.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills as well as experience in matrix organizations
- Very good German and good English skills, both spoken and written.
- Due to cooperation with customers in the area of critical infrastructures, a security clearance in accordance with the Security Clearance Act (SÜG) may be required.
