iMove, the Sanofi VIE Program, is available to citizens of the European Economic Area (EU + Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland) aged between 18 and 28.

About the job

As Automation Engineer VIE within our Engineering & Maintenance team, you will support the Detail Design Phase of a state-of-the-art biotech facility, contributing to the development and implementation of cutting-edge automation systems. It is a chance to enhance both, professional and intercultural skills and work closely with the team for the sister plant in China, which is built up at the same time. Ready to get started?

This sustainable, next-gen biologics site will support the entire portfolio of insulins, from development to delivery.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination and technical review of automation designs from international vendors and engineering partners.
  • Support automation architecture planning, including Distributed Control System/ Building Management System/ Energy Management System (DCS/BMS/EMS) and utilities automation.
  • Help align automation design with Sanofi global standards and local regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in digitalization initiatives and data integration concepts.
  • Interface with global automation colleagues and contribute to harmonized design packages.
  • Assist in preparation for design reviews, Factory Acceptance Test (FATs), and construction-related support.
  • Strongly collaborate with our internal and external engineering partners.

About you

Experience:

  • Interest or first experience in global project work and multicultural collaboration.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), ISA-88, or ISA-95 is a plus.

Soft and Technical skills:

  • Understanding of automation systems used in pharma/biotech manufacturing.
  • Problem-solving mindset.
  • Willingness to adapt to new cultural environments.
  • Open to relocation and excited to experience life and work in Germany.

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Automation, Process Control, or related engineering field.

Languages:

  • Fluent English (written and verbal).
  • German would be a plus.
