The Director of Technology is a software engineering expert with an agile mindset who is accountable for high-quality delivery of software and enterprise technology solutions across all phases of the SDLC. They possess deep understanding and experience of driving enterprise-level modern architecture, robust software engineering practices and cloud adoption. They also collaborate with senior clients (up to C-suite) across technology and business domains and wider Publicis Sapient delivery and consulting teams to create, shape and achieve business outcomes.

Your Impact

• Understand financial services clients’ business outcomes and help define future/evolutionary architecture, transition states, technology choices and operating model
• Deliver new digital solutions and efficiencies across the broader German Financial services sector (public, private, cooperative and investment banking)
• Help to drive enterprise-scale engineering transformation to enable accelerated growth initiatives and best-in-class customer experiences
• Be part of the DACH Financial Services Leadership team and directly contribute towards regional business growth by bringing new ideas and go to market strategies to unlock new revenue opportunities
• Contribute towards Publicis Sapient best in class engineering practices & initiatives, mentor and inspire a diverse and highly motivated engineering talent
• Represent Publicis Sapient in industry forums and platforms

Business & Consulting

• You will have extensive experience shaping and delivering solutions for German Financial Services Sector clients/companies (e.g. Private Banks, Public Banks, Cooperative Banks, Investment Sector)
• You will possess strong knowledge of Core banking concepts and systems (e.g. payment systems and flows, bespoke platforms and/or 3rd party systems, risk management)
• You will have experience delivering Digital Business Transformation for Financial Services sector clients underpinned by modern technology and methodology
• Consulting experience and Communication skills – You will be experienced in managing senior stakeholders (up to the C-suite) on the client side and responsible for building client advocates. You will also be experienced in running workshops with clients in a collaborative manner and achieving outcomes
• Thought Leadership & Commercial Readiness – You will bring a clear PoV on the topics that matter the most across the DACH FS sector and a strategy of how to convert ideas into revenue
• Agile Delivery experience – You will be experienced in agile-based delivery across the entire SDLC and have good hands-on experience in managing the agile ceremonies and practices
• Working with unknowns – You’ll have the ability to navigate the unknown and lead from the front in helping structure work and drive solution options and estimations at different RFP stages
• Delivering Business Outcomes – You will be experienced in delivering end-to-end outcomes for clients starting from ideation to value realisation
• Fluency in German and English is essential

Technology

• Extensive experience in defining end-to-end enterprise architecture
• Experience in leading complex distributed applications development that leverages Cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI)
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of software design/architectural concepts like Event-driven Architecture, Microservices, Domain-driven design, SOLID, DRY, SoC, etc
• Software development background of large-scale distributed systems with exposure to multiple languages (e.g. Java, Go, Scala, Python etc)
• Experience in API styles and understanding of the various data solutions and respective applications
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Node.js etc
• Knowledge of containers and building container-based platforms using Docker, GKE, AKS etc
• DevOps/automation and Quality Engineering experience
