Details of the role and how it fits into the team
The role is an Information Technology Risk expert within the 2nd LoD Information Technology Risk Team based in Frankfurt. The team is part of global team with staff in Singapore, Mumbai, Frankfurt, Milan, London, Jacksonville and New York.
The candidate should have a proven depth of knowledge on Information Technology Risk Frameworks such as COBIT and their design and implementation within large financial institutions. The team are responsible for providing Senior Management and Regulators with an independent assessment of the Information Technology Risks as well as developing, implementing and monitoring effectiveness of the Information Technology Risk Framework. The role will lead on various topics including presenting 2LoD assessments, decisions and escalations at senior governance forums within Germany and Europe; responding and presenting on Regulatory exams/enquires within the region and being the key point of contact in the region for all 2LoD matters for Information Technology Risk. The team has a global footprint in Germany, Singapore, Mumbai and USA.
The team members come mainly from Information Technology backgrounds either within Project Management, Business Analysis, Support, Audit or Leadership roles and have experience of between 10 and 26 years within Information Technology.
Your key responsibilities
Reporting and escalation of any Information Technology Risk Appetite breaches within Europe, analysis to causes of breaches, providing information to 1LoD on required remediation and tracking/reporting of 1LoD remediation.
Performing and present targeted reviews on key areas e.g Control design and operating effectiveness, Business Impact of IT Risk, Emerging/Horizon Risks (AI, Quantum, Robotics, Geo-Political risks, Technology Obsolescence), the Banks performance against its IT Strategy.
Execute review and challenge of 1LoD Risk and Control Assessments, Event Lessons Learned, Major IT transformation programmes, new business products.
Report and present the Regional and Divisional (Private Bank) Information Technology Risk Appetite Metrics in various forums.
Challenge 1LOD Risk Owners on risk breaches and their remediation glide paths
Lead on specific tasks within the Team’s BoW
Your skills and experiences
University degree (Computer Science, Business Administration, Natural Sciences or equivalent) is required
Experience (8+ years) in Information Technology with experience in the Finance industry and/or a major Technology company is required
Experience of presenting on Information Technology Risk topics to senior management
Strong understanding of Information Technology Risk Framworks (e.g COBIT) is preferred
Experience of working in global team is required
Experience of working in 2LOD is preferred
Knowledge of industry / regulatory standards (e.g. EBA Guidelines, DORA) is preferred
Knowledge of Cloud technologies is preferred
Relevant professional certifications are required: e.g. CRISC, ITIL
