EMEA Recruitment has partnered with a leading global FMCG organization currently undergoing a phase of strategic growth and commercial transformation across the European markets in its search for a Category Manager DACH.
As the Category Manager for the DACH region, you will play a critical role in driving commercial performance, brand visibility, and category optimization across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
This is a high-impact position with significant strategic exposure, acting as a key partner to the Associate Marketing Director NCE and the broader Commercial team.
This role is based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, offering flexible hybrid working options. It provides a unique opportunity to influence regional strategy within a collaborative, data-driven, and inclusive environment.
The main responsibilities of the Category Manager DACH include:
Owning the regular analysis and monitoring of consumer and market data to derive actionable recommendations for brands and customers
Analyzing and optimizing the product portfolio across different channels to enhance shelf layouts and drive category activation
Acting as the regional brand gatekeeper, ensuring consistent design and positioning, while implementing central marketing programs with local amplification
Developing and executing country-specific B2C and B2B marketing strategies and campaigns tailored to the DACH market
Managing the full lifecycle of budget planning and control for the DACH marketing expenditure
Collaborating closely with external partners, international departments, and central teams to support operational excellence
Candidate requirements:
University degree in Business Administration or a related discipline (minimum bachelor’s degree)
4-6 years of professional experience in the FMCG industry or a similar complex industrial environment
Proven track record in Category Management or Commercial Planning within a sizeable multinational organization
Strong analytical capability with proficient knowledge of channel management and market analysis using POS and Nielsen data
Deep understanding of German trade structures is highly advantageous
Excellent presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to navigate cross-functional and international team structures
Fluency in written and spoken German and English is required - knowledge of Polish is considered an advantage
