Summary: SAP is launching a bold, long-term initiative to explore the transformative potential of Quantum Technologies in enterprise software. Anchored within the Office of the CTO, our team is building world-class expertise to develop quantum-enabled applications and foster a rich ecosystem of partners.
As the Senior Technical Project Manager for Optimization & Quantum, you will be the central point of contact for our quantum activities in the vibrant Munich ecosystem. You will play a key role in executing our quantum strategy on the ground, coordinating groundbreaking projects with the Munich Quantum Valley (MQV) and other key partners. This role is instrumental in supporting our transformation into SAP's first "quantum-native" organization
The Role:
- Plan and coordinate quantum computing projects based in Munich, ensuring alignment with the overall program strategy and timelines.
- Manage and foster the collaboration with key partners in the Munich ecosystem, including the Munich Quantum Valley (MQV), Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ), and local quantum hardware companies.
- Act as the local representative for the Head of Program (based in Walldorf), providing regular updates and ensuring local activities are visible and aligned.
- Support the Head of Program in the transformation of our team into a "quantum-native” development organization by helping to implement new processes and initiatives.
- Independently manage and execute specific quantum-related projects, tracking progress, and ensuring they meet their objectives.
- Serve as the first point of contact for technical discussions with developers and the external quantum community in Munich.
What you bring:
- Proven track record in technical project or program management, with a history of successful project delivery.
- A good understanding of Quantum Computing principles and the broader quantum technology ecosystem. You must be able to hold credible discussions with quantum developers and researchers.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on operational excellence and a structured approach to project execution.
- Excellent ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including academic institutions and technology companies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent SAP professionally in the Munich quantum community.
- A proactive and independent working style, comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.
- Familiarity with operations research or supply chain management concepts is a strong plus.
