For one of our clients operating in the energy trading space, we are looking to recruit a Oil Analyst to be based in Geneva.
Your mission:
Monitor and analyze global oil derivatives markets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
Conduct comprehensive research on factors influencing oil derivatives prices, including physical markets, geopolitical events, S&D dynamics, etc.
Develop and utilize statistical models to analyze data and forecast market movements
Assess the risk factors associated with oil trading and investment activities
Build and maintain financial models to analyze the economic viability of oil projects and investments
Prepare regular reports on market trends, pricing forecasts, and key indicators for internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including traders, economists, and risk management professionals, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics
Your profile:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Energy Management, or a related field
Proven experience of 5 years in oil derivatives analysis, trading, or related roles within the energy sector, with a strong understanding of physical oil markets
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Proficiency in statistical analysis and financial modeling
Intermediate Python-level required
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of global energy markets, geopolitical factors, and industry trends
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
