We are looking for a motivated Microservices Engineer intern from a leading Swiss university to join our Flanker Brands technology team for 6 months (up to 12months). This internship provides hands-on experience in designing, developing, and operating microservices in Node.js and TypeScript, while also offering unique exposure to the business side of product development. In addition to technical contributions, you will support the Product Owner in stakeholder engagement, team coordination, and capacity planning, giving you a full 360° view of how software and business come together in a real-world telecom environment.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

Engineering (Node.js & TypeScript focus):

• Develop and maintain microservices in Node.js and TypeScript
• Support troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization

Towards the end of the internship, you will be exposed to:

• API design, implementation, and testing

Business & Product Exposure:

• Support the Product Owner in scrum way of working and stakeholder management
• Assist with team capacity tracking and delivery planning

YOUR SKILLS:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field at a top Swiss university (ETH, EPFL, Uni Zurich, etc.)
• A first experience with Node.js and TypeScript (academic, personal, or professional projects)
• Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices, and cloud environments (AWS preferred)
• Interest in agile methodologies and cross-functional product development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Eager to learn, proactive, and comfortable working in a collaborative team
• Good communication skills in English (German or French is a plus)
