to be filled. Starting date is as soon as possible. The position is limited to a period of 3 years.
This position as part of the DFG-funded research project " PRIBONY: Understanding Older Adults’ PRIvacy Concerns about RoBOts and Exploring TranspareNcY as a Solution to Address Them" offers an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual in an interdisciplinary research environment that bridges privacy, human-computer interaction, and assistive robotics .
Your profile
- A very good M.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field,
- Solid knowledge and/or strong interest in privacy, human factors, and technology for older adults,
- Experience with user-centered design, qualitative and/or quantitative user studies, and ideally with prototyping interactive systems,
- Ability to conduct independent scientific research, along with strong commitment, team orientation in an interdisciplinary context, and communication skills,
- A very good command of both English and German is a must,
- Strong interest in pursuing a doctoral degree and contributing to high-impact research.
Your responsibilites
- Conducting user studies to explore and understand older adults- privacy perceptions and concerns regarding the use of assistive robots,
- Designing, developing, and evaluating a novel transparency solution that empowers older adults to make informed privacy-related decisions,
- Integrating the solution into a demonstrator for empirical evaluation,
- Assessing the solution-s impact on privacy concerns, decision-making capabilities, and acceptance,
- Publishing and presenting the obtained scientific results in international peer-reviewed conferences and/or journals,
- Supervising student assistants and student projects on research questions related to the project.
