Manager of PD Global Extractables Lab FMT (x|f|m) – Hybrid
For our PD Science and Testing FMT department within Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH we are currently looking for a Manager of PD Global Extractables Lab FMT (x|f|m) in full-time at our headquarters Goettingen (with the possibility to work remotely on a regular basis). The owner of this role will be responsible for generating analytical data with the focus on extractables analysis of single-use systems, as well as establishing and maintaining analytical methods and instruments within the internal laboratory. The Manager of PD Global Extractables Lab FMT (x|f|m) will oversee laboratory, ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies, and manage personnel, thus shaping the future with us.
row with us – Your Responsibilities
Manage laboratory to perform extractables analyses on SUS andprovide analytical services for other functions such as R&D
Oversee maintenance and qualification of laboratory equipment including writing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs)
Define analytical methods, review, challenge, interpret and validate analytical data and reports from the lab
Ensure efficient laboratory procedure including study coordination, samples tracking, and report creation
Deploy global E&L strategy defined by the E&L principal scientist, track regulatory changes and translate them into the laboratory work
Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and adherence to lab safety standards.
Train internal and external stakeholders on E&L
Represent Sartorius as subject matter expert (SME) at industry consortia, in customer discussions, and on international conferences
Curate the internal extractables database ExSim
Hire, train, supervise and develop laboratory staff
Collaborate closely with other functions such as P&D, PM, Quality, Confidence and Regulatory Affairs
Successfully completed PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related field, alternatively Master in Analytical Chemistry with longterm experience as demanded below incl. proven leadership
Several years of experience working in an analytical lab, preferably in biopharma or similar fields, such as water or food industry
Strong knowledge of analytical techniques such as LC-MS|MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS, etc.
Experience in managing people (at least on a lateral basis) and projects
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines related to extractables and leachables studies
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Excellent communication skills and the ability, to explain reports gathered from data
Fluency in both German and English (oral and written) and willingness to travel (approx. 10%)
