PhD Position (m/f/x) in Algorithmic and Combinatorial Geometry, Group Leader Birgit Vogtenhuber

Responsibilities

• Research in the field of algorithmic and combinatorial geometry
• Publication of research results in relevant journals and at conferences
• Writing a dissertation in this area
• Teaching in the field of theoretical computer science / algorithm design, Co-supervision of students in seminars/projects
• Assistance in the administration of projects, as well as administrative activities in teaching and institute administration
• The dissertation will be supervised by Birgit Vogtenhuber

Profile

Completed master's or diploma degree in Computer Science, or equivalent fields of study

Desired Qualification

Excellent knowledge and experience in discrete mathematics/theoretical computer science/algorithm design/graph theory.
Completed studies: Master's degree in computer science or a related degree, e.g. Master's degree in mathematics with a large algorithmic study component.
Motivation to write a doctoral thesis.
Very good communication skills, as well as the ability to work carefully in the scientific field.
Experience in assisting in university teaching is desirable (e.g. tutoring, supporting activities).
The willingness and ability to teach courses in the field of theoretical computer science/algorithm design is expected.
Good knowledge of English, knowledge of German desirable.

We Offer

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52,007.20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
