Your tasks
The Institute of Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IMBM) at the University Medicine of Greifswald is seeking a
highly motivated and talented
PhD student to join our team for an exciting research project on
altered immune responses due to proteasome impairment.
The project is funded by the
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) within the frame of research training group 2719 "Proteases in pathogen and host: importance in inflammation and infection".
This project aims to unravel the intricate relationship between proteasome dysfunction and altered immune signalling. For further information, please see

Your task:
You will apply cutting edge biochemical, cell biological, molecular biological and immunological methods including a combination of pharmacological approaches, or CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing. For your work you will have insights from samples of patients with rare proteasomopathies or respective mouse models for proteasome dysfunction.
Our requirements
- A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in medical sciences, biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field
- Experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, Western blotting, cell culture)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- High level of motivation and the ability to work independently
