The Role:
Our client is looking for a Transport Officer to join their Highways & Transportation team. You’ll assist with the planning and procurement of passenger transport services, coordinate contract inspections, and manage key data systems. This role will also involve liaising with contractors, stakeholders, and the public to ensure services run efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and procure passenger transport services using ICT systems
Conduct efficiency reviews and assist with transport-related training
Ensure vehicles are licensed, insured, and compliant
Coordinate inspections and monitor contract time-keeping
Maintain accurate records and provide timely management information
Support the development of business processes and transport data collection
What the Client is Looking For:
Transport and management experience
Knowledge of transport legislation (e.g., Transport Act 2000, Concessionary Bus Travel Act 2007)
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
