For one of our clients, a newly formed trading company, we are seeking to recruit a Middle Officer - Oil Products to be based in Hamburg, Germany.

Key responsibilities:

• Trade Management & Data Integrity: Accurately capture and maintain all financial (Swaps, Futures, Options) and physical deals, ensuring high data accuracy through continuous validation and reconciliation
• System Optimization: Actively contribute to the development and enhancement of our CTRM system, driving process automation and efficiency
• Risk & Hedging: Analyze exposure across various pricing mechanisms, implement appropriate hedging strategies, and execute FX futures to mitigate currency risk in collaboration with the Finance team
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Validate and report P&L at various levels of granularity, prepare Position and Price Risk Reports, and provide clear explanations for daily P&L fluctuations
• Operational Support: Support the execution of Options, Futures, and Swaps, manage daily margin calls, monitor clearing account balances, and reconcile payments with counterparties
• Accounting Collaboration: Assist Accounting with P&L reconciliations and month-end closing activities
• Clearing Account Management: Oversee clearing account operations, communicate with brokers, and optimize initial margin and credit line usage

Your profile:

• Education & Experience: A degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. Professional experience in operations, middle office, risk, or similar roles within commodity trading is highly valued
• Analytical & Organizational Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, coupled with excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Language: Fluent in English, a good level of German is a plus
• Technical Proficiency: Highly desirable experience with SQL and Python for data workflow improvement and automation. Advanced Excel skills are essential for complex data analysis and reporting
• Leadership & Proactiveness: A leadership mindset, demonstrating the ability to take ownership of critical responsibilities and proactively contribute to team development
