In your role as Data Engineer Data Platform (m/f/d) at our Hamburg location, you can make your own personal contribution to our goals.
Your tasks
Within the "Customer Data & CRM" product group of EDEKA IT, we are responsible for data processing for the EDEKA Group. Our tasks include processing and structuring the master data and customer data of the EDEKA Group to make it available to our specialist departments.
As a Data Engineer for the EDEKA data platform, you play a central role in the development of our data products. You are responsible for the continuous improvement of our curated data layers as well as the import and export processes. Furthermore, you ensure smooth operation through targeted quality assurance. Your contribution is crucial to ensuring that EDEKA has well-structured, high-quality data. Your regular tasks will include the following:
- Development and optimization in the domain "Customer Data & Coupons" or "Transaction & Master Data" in our Azure / Databricks data platform: Responsible for the development and maintenance of data products, architectures and pipelines.
- Building and maintaining data integration processes to ensure that data from different sources is consistent and accessible.
- Intensive collaboration within the development team and with the product owner to ensure that technical requirements are met and product goals are achieved.
- Monitoring and compliance with data governance standards, ensuring that data processing procedures meet the established governance and security standards.
- Continuous evaluation and optimization of the data infrastructure based on user feedback and in-house data analysis to increase the efficiency and quality of data processes.
Your profile
- You have successfully completed a degree or vocational training in an IT-related field – (business) informatics, data science, or similar – or possess an equivalent qualification.
- You have sound practical experience in the development and optimization of data architectures and pipelines.
- You have a comprehensive understanding of (cloud) databases, ETL processes and modern cloud data processing technologies.
- You have solid experience with Microsoft Azure data processing products and ideally have experience using Databricks.
- You possess strong analytical thinking skills and the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and break them down into clear, actionable steps.
- You demonstrate a high level of competence in solving technical problems and the ability to make informed decisions based on data and analysis.
- You are able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at various levels to clarify requirements and present solutions.
- You have practical experience with agile methods and frameworks (e.g. Scrum) and their application in a technical environment.
- You have fluent German skills, both spoken and written (CEFR level C1 or higher).
