The AI team works closely with the specialist departments to develop solutions for our digital touchpoints that leverage discriminatory and generative AI to specifically improve our policyholders' experience with our digital offerings. This is embedded in our corporate strategy, taking current social and healthcare policy issues into account. As a data scientist with a focus on AI transformation and governance, you will plan and support the orientation of AI as a cross-cutting technology within the company and also design the guidelines for its safe, value-oriented, and targeted use.
Your task
- Collaboration in cross-functional teams to identify, (further) develop, deploy, and operate AI-supported solutions for our digital touchpoints
- Coordination of cooperation between AI developers, staff units and specialist departments
- Contact person for all departments regarding (potential) applications of AI in various use cases
- Conception, updating and implementation of target group-specific formats (face-to-face and online training, lectures, e-learning, etc.) for imparting AI skills within the company
- Developing and updating standards, templates, processes and internal policies as part of our AI governance
- Tracking development progress, documentation, results, and evidence for AI use cases
- Collaboration on the development of Python-based back-end applications
- Supporting the AI transformation as well as proactively monitoring technological, regulatory and market trends, including adaptation to the needs of the company
- Content and conceptual preparation, implementation and follow-up of workshops, lectures and similar formats
Your profile
- Completed university degree, preferably in (business) informatics or another STEM subject
- Solid knowledge of Python
- Solid understanding of fundamental concepts and algorithms in statistics, machine learning, neural networks, and generative AI, particularly prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
- Strong understanding of relevant regulations in the health data and AI environment (AI Regulation, GDPR, GDNG) and ethical principles
- Confident use of Git, GitHub/GitLab and common CI/CD tools
- At least 1 year of experience working on productive AI/Data Science/Data Analytics projects
- Sound knowledge of agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, OKR)
- Strong analytical skills and transfer ability as well as future-oriented, entrepreneurial and strategic thinking
- High level of personal responsibility and the ability and motivation to independently develop solutions with concrete decision-making recommendations
- Knowledge of the German language - at least C1
In addition, the following are desirable:
- Knowledge of the statutory health insurance market
- Understanding basic concepts of secure software development (SecDevOps) and software architecture
- Experience with established technical principles, rules, and standards for the development and operation of AI (C5, OWASP Top Ten)
- Knowledge of cloud-based (ideally MS Azure) or hybrid (cloud/on-premise) infrastructure solutions
