As Digital Data & Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for shaping and driving the company’s digital data strategy across the R&D organization. You will lead a specialized digital data team, establish robust data governance and management frameworks, and collaborate closely with Digital, Information and Technology (DIT) and cross-functional stakeholders. Your work will ensure that digital data assets are secure, high-quality, scalable, and effectively leveraged to generate insights, support innovation, and enable advanced analytics and AI-driven use cases.

Your tasks include

• Develop and implement data governance and data management strategies to ensure efficient, secure, and compliant collection, storage, and retrieval of digital data.
• Lead, coach, and develop the digital data team, including hiring, performance management, technical qualification, and career development.
• Partner with DIT teams to design, evaluate, and implement data architectures (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes, pipelines) that support R&D business needs.
• Define and enforce standards for data quality, formats, naming conventions, and classification to ensure consistency and interoperability.
• Drive initiatives leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, AI, and GenAI to extract value and insights from digital data.
• Translate business and cross-functional requirements into scalable data management and analytics solutions.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously improving data platforms and reporting progress and impact to senior management.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent qualification. A background in Chemistry and Materials Science is nice to have.
• Proven leadership experience with excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management capabilities.
• Strong expertise in data governance, data modelling, data engineering, and data visualization concepts and tools.
• Strong process orientation combined with financial acumen and operational awareness.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to structure complex challenges and communicate solutions clearly.
• Hands-on digital mindset with experience in SQL/NoSQL, Python, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), SAP S/4HANA, analytics & reporting tools; knowledge of LLMs, GenAI, Jira, and Confluence is a strong plus.
• Fluent English and basic German language skills.
