Your mission
We are looking for a Data Engineering Manager to lead and grow our existing data engineering team while remaining actively hands-on. In this role, you will help scale our data infrastructure and play a key role in shaping our adtech platform at exmox.
In this role you will:
- Spearhead the team in conceiving, implementing, testing, and launching ETL pipelines, data models, and warehouse architecture, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions.
- As a key member of our Data Leadership Team, which includes analytics and product engineering leads, you will collaborate seamlessly with the analytics, product engineering and DevOps team. Collaborate towards driving alignment business priorities and technical execution.
- Lead the agile data engineering team with technical guidance and inspiration. Acting as The People Leader you will not only drive collaborative and efficient development but also oversee individual development of engineers, and act as a Hiring Manager as the team scales.
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and agile best practices within the team, promoting an atmosphere of innovation and adaptability.
- Guarantee the stability, security, and high-performance operation of our data platform for batch, streaming and analytics-workloads.
- Proactively monitor and optimize our services and infrastructure, emphasizing scalability and cost efficiency for enhanced performance.
- Take ownership of developing solutions and communication with the development team by working closely with our talented data engineers to build new data products.
- Drive teamwork and shared expertise to achieve project milestones.
- Act as a hands-on technical leader, contributing to architecture design, code reviews, and occasionally implementation of critical pipelines and infrastructure.

Your profile
- A Bachelor's degree in a STEM subject, demonstrating a strong foundation in technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- 3+ years of experience leading and mentoring teams of data engineers, with a focus on fostering collaboration and achieving project goals.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a data engineer (ETL, data modeling, warehouse management), showcasing proficiency in developing and launching innovative products and features.
- Experience in developing, scaling and maintaining cloud data platform, ensuring scalability and reliability while optimising costs and performance.
- Strong competence in data governance, lineage, access policies, and data quality assurance.
- Proficiency in languages such as SQL, Python, Spark with a passion for learning and applying new technologies.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, enabling effective interaction with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
- Strong methodical competence in project management, including the ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources effectively, and drive projects to successful completion.
- Adaptable to fast-changing work environments, demonstrating resilience and flexibility in navigating dynamic challenges, comfortable being hands-on when needed.
