Job purpose

As the Global Head of Ocean Freight Pricing & Quotation, you will lead the transformation of our global pricing and quotation operations. This role is central to driving process excellence, digital enablement, and customer-centric solutions across our ocean freight business. You will be responsible for optimizing the end-to-end quotation lifecycle—ensuring speed, consistency, and commercial competitiveness—while enabling accurate, automated pricing, quotation, and invoicing through robust rate card management and data governance.

Principal accountabilities

Pricing & Quotation Process Optimization

• Design and implement standardized, scalable pricing and quotation processes across all regions.
• Identify and eliminate inefficiencies, reducing manual workload and improving turnaround times for the full quotation lifecycle, including RFQs, spot pricing, and strategic bids.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational agility.

Digital Transformation & Tool Deployment

• Drive the global rollout and adoption of pricing automation platforms and digital quotation tools.
• Leverage data and technology to improve pricing transparency, speed-to-market, and margin visibility.

Rate Card Loading & Maintenance

• Own the global rate card loading and maintenance process to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems.
• Collaborate with Tender Management and IT to ensure timely updates and integration of rate data.
• Optimize autorating capabilities by maintaining high-quality rate inputs, enabling accurate and efficient invoicing.
• Support the development of scalable solutions for rate versioning, auditing, and exception handling.

Data Quality Governance & Optimization

• Establish global standards for data integrity across pricing, quotation, and rate management systems.
• Implement governance frameworks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all pricing-related data.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize data flows, reduce errors, and enhance system reliability.
• Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to monitor data quality KPIs and implement corrective actions proactively.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, Education and Experience

• Extensive experience in global ocean freight pricing, quotation, or tender management.
• Proven track record in business process optimization and digital transformation.
• Deep understanding of rate structures, pricing systems, and autorating mechanisms.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills in a global, matrixed environment.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on data quality, automation, and operational excellence.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field; advanced certifications (e.g., CF APMP) are a plus.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
• More then 8 years relevant experience
