Our E-Commerce & Commercial Law Team is responsible for group-wide legal advisory at ABOUT YOU. This includes drafting and reviewing key commercial contracts – particularly in the areas of supply and distribution – advising on the implementation of new business models, and ensuring regulatory compliance across our operations. The team supports our business units in leveraging legal and commercial opportunities while managing risks in a pragmatic and business-oriented way.

As an In-House Counsel – Commercial (m/f/d) , you will play a central role in advising our business functions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, advise on distribution channels and digital business models, and actively contribute to the further development of our legal standards and processes.

Responsibilities

• Handle and coordinate complex legal matters, particularly in distribution law, commercial law, regulatory topics, and related legal fields

• Independently draft, review, negotiate, and manage company-specific contracts in German and English, with a focus on commercial and contract law and extensive cross-functional interfaces
• Provide day-to-day legal support to our business units, especially in the areas of private labels, supply & distribution, marketplace operations, and sustainability
• Develop pragmatic, commercially sound recommendations and actionable decision-making frameworks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Requirements

• Up to two years of relevant legal advisory experience, ideally in the e-commerce or consumer goods sector, e.g., at an international law firm and/or in-house

• Fully qualified German lawyer (successful completion of both state exams)
• Business-fluent German and English, both written and spoken
• Strong understanding of commercial and economic contexts
• Basic knowledge of technology topics / high technology affinity and willingness to quickly familiarize yourself with new subject areas
• Fast learner with a structured working style, high level of commitment, and strong team orientation
