Job Description:
In order to support the AI and Data Solutions Team, Airbus Aerostructures is looking for a Lead Computer Vision Engineer (d/f/m) .
In the AI and Data solutions team we focus on innovative solutions for industrial challenges. We develop applications for Generative AI with Software- and Data-Engineering. As a Lead Computer Vision Engineer, you will spearhead our computer vision initiatives, driving the development and deployment of advanced applications. You will manage a portfolio of strategic AI projects, design technical solutions, and ensure seamless integration across our industrial landscape. Working in a dynamic and innovative environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional and transnational teams to push the boundaries of AI-driven manufacturing.
This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.
Your Location
You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Lead the computer vision project portfolio for Airbus Aerostructures, providing technical guidance and mentoring to specialists while fostering an innovative environment.
Design, develop, and deploy robust computer vision models and applications tailored for diverse industrial use cases.
Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of projects within the platform, from initial R&D to production-level maintenance.
Drive strategic planning by identifying new technologies and contributing to the team’s computer vision roadmap.
Collaborate with transnational teams across the Airbus Group, including data engineers and manufacturing experts, to integrate AI solutions into existing processes.
Ensure technical quality and scalability of solutions , maintaining compliance with relevant airworthiness standards and requirements.
Stay at the forefront of innovation by integrating the latest advancements in Deep Learning and Computer Vision into current projects.
Desired skills and qualifications
Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on Computer Vision or Machine Learning.
Extensive professional experience (5+ years) in Computer Vision, Data Science, or Machine Learning.
Proven track record in leading teams or managing complex technical projects.
Expertise in frameworks and platforms such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras, coupled with strong Python programming skills.
Experience with Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and deploying ML models at a production level.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset for tackling complex challenges.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse, multinational environment.
