Job Description:
In order to support the Air Generation department, Airbus Operations is looking for a
Master student in the field of air conditioning systems (d/f/m), title of thesis "Turbomachinery design for aircraft air conditioning system”
You are looking for a master thesis and want to get to know the work of an Aircraft System Engineer (d/f/m)? Then apply now! We look forward to you supporting us in the Air Generation department as a master student (d/f/m)!

Start: As soon as possible
Duration: 6 months
Your location
You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Literature research and familiarization with turbomachinery design methodologies and tools.
Development and application of design methodology for various turbomachinery components in the air conditioning system.
Preliminary design of an air conditioning equipment and performance prediction.
Validation of design with available data.
Documentation.
Desired skills and qualifications
Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) in the area of Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar field of study.
Knowledge in turbomachinery, ideally with the background of fluid dynamics and thermo-fluidic systems.
Knowledge of Python or C++ and a familiarity with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and/or system modeling with Dymola/Modelica or similar tool.
Experience in or a willingness to work in an international team and with international internal interfaces as well as external suppliers.
Fluent in English.
