Working Student - Engineering Support for Wind Projects (f/m/d)

A Snapshot of Your Day 

 

As a working student in the Site-Specific Loads Team, your day starts with a team meeting to discuss ongoing projects related to load assessments for wind turbine support structures. You analyze simulation data on the dynamic responses of turbines to external loads and work on developing tools to automate our load calculation processes. Additionally, you help coordinate and store input data for easy access and contribute to discussions on improving methodologies and validating our models against full-scale measurements. This role allows you to apply my programming skills while collaborating with a diverse team in an international environment.

 

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Understand fundamental assumptions of load calculation methods to develop standalone tools that automate processes and improve output
• Assist in setting up data storage for input data and analysis results, ensuring easy access for analysis and comparison
• Support the team in improving existing tools and methodologies for improved efficiency
• Collaborate with team members to validate calculation models against full-scale measurements
• Engage in discussions to share insights and contribute to the continuous improvement of load assessment practices

What You Bring
A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…

• You are a 3rd year student or over at a German University or University of Applied Sciences
• You have robust programming abilities, preferably in MATLAB and Python
• You are available to support the team for around 16 hours per week in the office in Hamburg
• You possess strong communication skills and are proficient in English
• You thrive in an international and diverse environment
• You are flexible, enthusiastic, and strive to continuously improve solutions and processes
