We are solving global plastic pollution—and you will be part of the solution!

With our innovative technology, we produce an innovative and environmentally friendly biomaterial from plant-based residues from the agricultural industry – bio-based, plastic-free, and compostable. A material that leaves no harmful traces behind. We want to replace as much plastic as possible, and that's where you come in.

As a working student (f/m/x) for Material Compounding and Testing in Product Development, you will support us in manufacturing our innovative material and continuously improving the production process. With your help, we will optimize the quality of our granulate and make our materials suitable for a wide range of applications in order to make the greatest possible contribution to solving global plastic pollution! This role offers a great opportunity to gain operational experience at the interface between manufacturing, process and product development. It makes a first-hand contribution in solving global plastic pollution, establishing traceless as the market leader for compostable plastic replacement materials. Your tasks will include:
  • Active support of the Product Development group
  • Run and optimize lab- as well as pilot-scale compounding processes
  • Document, evaluate and analyze relevant process data from the compounding processes or your own experiments
  • Take on your own projects for the technical optimization of our compounding processes
  • Be part of a diverse and open team and expand your operational experience
Your profile
  • You have a hands-on mentality, a practical mind-set and are not afraid to leave your comfort zone
  • Ideally, you are studying mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or (bio)process engineering with a material science related specialization or a comparable technical field of engineering
  • You have (basic) knowledge of polymer compounding processes/ process engineering
  • You are self-organized, conscientious, reliable and responsible
  • You are innovative, open-minded, a team player and have a sense of humour
  • You are available immediately
  • You have good German and English skills (spoken and written)
  • You are interested in getting involved in the varied day-to-day work of a startup

About us
traceless is a young company - with a big vision: a future free of pollution and waste! Our award-winning company was founded in Hamburg in 2020 by our female founding duo Anne and Johanna. By now we are a diverse team from different disciplines, ages and twelve nationalities, united by our common mission: to contribute to solving plastic pollution and build the regenerative industry of the future. To achieve this, we are working to bring our materials to market quickly and to build our first large-scale production facility in Hamburg-Harburg.
