Tasks

• As a data engineer, you develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes, integrating various data sources.
• To do this, you will build and orchestrate data pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse to ensure efficient data flows.
• You will also model data structures and implement transformations according to the ELT principle, always paying attention to performance and scalability.
• You implement data quality checks and develop monitoring and alerting systems to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Optimizing the performance of data processing processes and solving technical problems to ensure smooth operations are also part of your job.
• You will work closely with data analysts, scientists, and business departments to identify requirements and jointly develop data-driven solutions.
• Your job profile will be rounded off by supporting the implementation of data governance and security policies, such as GDPR-compliant data processing and the documentation of data flows and technical processes.

Requirements

• You have a degree in (business) informatics, data engineering, mathematics, natural sciences, or a comparable qualification. Alternatively, you have vocational training in the IT field with relevant experience in the data environment.
• You have at least 2-3 years of experience in data engineering or data infrastructure.
• Ideally, you have experience with DBT, Snowflake, and Azure Data Services.
• You have solid knowledge of SQL and ideally also Python and have experience with CI/CD processes and version control (git/GitHub).
• Your personality is characterized by an analytical and solution-oriented mindset, a high degree of quality awareness, a structured way of working, the ability to work in a team, and strong communication skills in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Finally, you are willing to continuously learn new technologies and work independently and responsibly with critical data processes.
