Your contribution:
The Finance Controller Sourcing is responsible for overseeing procurement financials, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and supporting strategic sourcing initiatives across the EMEA region. This role acts as a bridge between procurement, finance, and operations to drive cost efficiency and transparency. It will also be responsible for all financial activities, processes and internal controls related to the Clarios regional Metal Sourcing organizations in EMEA with potential involvement in Direct and Indirect Sourcing to develop strategic approaches that leverage overall purchase spend. The role is located in Hannover, Germany.
Responsibilities:
Business Partnership and Support:
Partner with Direct, Indirect, and Metal Sourcing Leaders to develop and support strategic initiatives.
Implement plans to improve purchasing processes and controls to achieve best-in-class standards.
Conduct business evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement and address barriers to achieving strategic and financial objectives.
Support pre- and post-acquisition activities and integration as required.
Develop and maintain financial tools and resources to support capital and strategic investments.
Provide financial analysis and support during supplier visits and negotiations.
Financial Process and Fiduciary Responsibilities:
Monitor and control procurement budgets, forecasts, and actuals across EMEA
Oversee financial management of the Profit & Loss (P&L) and B/S for EMEA Metal and Non-Metal purchasing a business ledger if needed.
Analyze spending and identify cost-saving opportunities, provide support for Biz Case developed withing the team.
Monitor and control departments SGA spending and report out to Cost center owner regularly.
Manage financial and KPI reporting for Trade working capital – Accounts Payable accounts. Timely and accurate report on Cash Forecast.
Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial records and timely presentation of financial statements including all internal deliverables.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies to maintain the company's legal and ethical standing.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks associated with procurement activities to ensure the stability and security of the company's financial operations.
Identify and propagate the best business practices across the business units.
Provide guidance and expertise in accounting, internal controls, strategic planning, budget preparation, financial reporting, and savings tracking.
Implement systems, procedures, and controls to ensure financial discipline and enable effective decision-making.
Implement internal controls to improve KPIs and proactively work on report automations in cooperation with Clarios Business Center.
Ensure best practices are in place to protect the company's assets
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent
Solid years of international operations/supply chain and/or P&L experience in multinational, matrix driven organization with a high regard for results-driven growth and profitability (preferable in U.S. company).
Excellent business and analytical skills with a high degree of intelligence and creativity.
Effective technical financial skills, balanced with sound business judgment. The ability to balance financial and operational factors and to analyze complex business problems and develop appropriate solutions in a timely and responsive manner.
Experience implementing new systems/change programs into a large, complex business.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and data tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) is plus.
Experience managing compliance (SOX and internal controls) is a plus
Proven interpersonal skills with a collegial, team-oriented style.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English as well as strong presentation skills.
