Continental’s digital capabilities are growing every day. Our eCommerce, Fleet Solutions and Data Science Information Technology team creates a wide range of technology solutions for Continental’s Global Sales and Marketing teams – and we want you to join us!
Our team continuously works on the digitalization of our business-to-business processes and end consumer communication, using leading web technologies and a strong focus on data science and artificial intelligence. We run Continental’s global customer relationship management platform, which supports our Sales colleagues in their daily interaction with customers.
The Fleet Solutions part of our team builds global tech platforms using the Internet of Things, big data and automated service management. We constantly strive to improve the user experience for our fleet customers and Continental’s fleet organization.

As a System Architect (m/f/diverse) for Digital Solutions, you will join an international and innovative environment.
In this exciting job you work on the following tasks:
- Collaborating with business stakeholders, domain architects, and developers in the IT team to design and implement digital services for Continental Tires
- Developing and maintaining the overall system architecture for digital solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and security
- Creating detailed technical specifications and design documents for new and existing digital services
- Evaluating and recommending new technologies and frameworks to enhance our digital capabilities
- Leading the integration of various systems and applications within the Continental Tires ecosystem
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, alignment with group sector policies / standards and best practices in system architecture
- Mentoring junior team members and providing technical guidance to the development team
- Conducting regular architecture reviews and proposing improvements to existing systems
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align digital solutions with business objectives
- Participating in the full software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment and maintenance / support
- Troubleshooting complex technical issues and providing expert-level support when needed

- Academic degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent qualification
- Multiple years working experience in the IT industry
- Several years of experience in Data & Analytics or Java development projects
- Several years of experience in software or IT system architecture design
- Advanced knowledge of Database Technologies
- Advanced Java programming knowledge
- Advanced experience with agile methodologies
- Comprehensive knowledge in cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Comprehensive knowledge in microservices architecture and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Comprehensive knowledge of API design and RESTful web services
- General knowledge with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Professional working proficiency in English
- Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
- Good understanding of business processes and strong customer-centricity
- Experience in working in diverse teams on a global level and in a matrix organization
- Excellent presentation skills also in front of large audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
