As an experienced and practically minded Principal Infrastructure Architect (m/f/d), you will enrich the IPAI Engineering Team. You will be responsible for the infrastructural foundation of the IPAI innovation platform and will design its structure and operations in the areas of compute, storage, networking, identity, and security. In this role, you will translate the strategic goals and needs of IPAI members and partners into concrete infrastructure capabilities that will position IPAI as a reliable platform for the long term.
Your tasks
- Responsible for IPAI's end-to-end infrastructure architecture and defining target architectures for compute, storage, networking, identity, and security.
- Translate strategic, legal and governance requirements into concrete systems, taking into account performance, costs, sovereignty, compliance and user-friendliness.
- Specify and drive the implementation of infrastructure solutions to ensure the feasibility, operability, and resilience of the architectures in practice.
- Acted as the primary technical interface to internal IT as well as to external providers and partners to harmonize IPAI needs with the realities of businesses and the public sector.
- Define clear operational and security standards, including access models, monitoring strategies, reliability expectations, and auditability.
- Continuously develop the infrastructure foundation and anticipate future requirements from members and the IPAI community.
Your profile
- You have extensive experience as an Infrastructure Architect, Platform Architect or Senior Infrastructure Engineer in complex, regulated environments or multi-stakeholder projects.
- You have experience and success in designing and deploying scalable infrastructure systems that are used by numerous teams or external users.
- You have a deep understanding of modern infrastructure stacks, including cloud and on-premise environments, networking, storage, and identity and security architectures.
- You are proficient in the practical implementation and automation of infrastructures using tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar technologies.
- Ideally, you have solid experience in working with the public sector, corporate IT, or other highly regulated industries.
