Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation
Space planning is vital for the success of our Retail & Franchise stores. Store layout plays an important role in enhancing our brands by creating memorable consumer experiences. Space planning is the art and science of maximizing floor and merchandising space. This position supports us to use our stores efficiently, ultimately improving our financial performance. It is vital for this role to find the right balance between brand building and commercial opportunities and requires the ability to have a proper understanding of the consumers psychology.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to creating new approaches and concepts for space planning
- Lead seasonal space validation exercise among all franchise stores
- MFP planning (creation of store-category level frame for next season based on space and categories performance)
- Support in creating floor plans combining capacity, consumer journeys and financial plans. This includes:
- Support in efficiently creating layout drawings
- Support in analyzing comprehensive datasets, allocating fixture space based on current sales, inventory turn, sales potential, and consumer friendliness
- Retail operations & local retail teams
- Planning and buying
- Visual merchandising
- Assortment Planning team
- Advanced excel skills
- Strong analytical and technical background
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Knowledge of merchandising, visual merchandising, retail supply and operations topics and knowledge of other functional areas involved in the planning & buying process
- Product knowledge and understanding of inventory principles as an advantage
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills as well as strong creative merchandising skills
- Fluent in English
- University degree in business, ideally with analytical and sales focus or equivalent professional experience
- Retail knowledge gained through working in stores as advantage
- 2+ years of typical relevant work experience
