The Retail Design Team at adidas is responsible for creating future-forward store experiences that elevate the adidas brand across the Retail & Wholesale channels.
We collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, innovate, and evolve experiential retail concepts, store designs, and fixture innovations that deliver best-in-class consumer journeys. We establish and maintain global store design principles, guidelines, and templates to ensure consistency in experiential brand identity.

Manage and deliver the design and concept development of industry-leading retail environments, standards and guidelines.
This includes the creation of future developments and refinements of existing concepts as a strong conceptual and innovative designer for adidas Global Retail Design.
Deliver retail design solutions against business objectives and support on-Brand execution in line with commercial KPIs.
Develop concept design on a technical design level to enable engineering team with thought-through executable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Technical Design Development – Drive the creation and refinement of adidas’ retail design concepts, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and execution excellence across the global store portfolio.
- Advance Store Design Innovation – Collaborate with the engineering team to develop scalable, modular, and adaptable retail design solutions that balance creativity with implementation efficiency.
- Material & Construction Expertise – Research and integrate innovative materials, sustainable construction methods, and advanced manufacturing techniques to enhance store durability, sustainability, and cost efficiency.
- Prototype & Test for Execution – Develop and oversee physical and digital prototypes, ensuring designs translate seamlessly from concept to execution while meeting brand identity and operational requirements.
- Technical Specification & Documentation –
- Produce detailed design drawings, construction documentation, and technical specifications that guide internal teams and external vendors.
- Define store fixture systems, lighting specifications, digital integration, and material standards.
- Ensure technical feasibility while maintaining aesthetic and experiential quality.
- Training & Knowledge Transfer –
- Conduct technical training sessions for markets, ensuring a deep understanding of systems, guidelines, and execution requirements.
- Support internal teams with updates on new materials, technologies, and construction techniques.

- Strong organisation skills and flexibility
- Work independently and collaboratively.
- Deep knowledge and proven experience in specialised store design, plus broad knowledge of other retail and brand areas.
- Proven track record in retail concept design, development and implementation.
- Strong Design & Visualisation skills – 2D hand sketching & 3D CAD rendering skills (Sketch-up, VectorWorks, 3DMax, or similar) to illustrate design ideas convincingly , Adobe Creative Cloud
- Other IT: Microsoft Office, Smartsheet Project Management
- Detailed design development skills, construction, material & production expertise, particularly furniture making.
- English fluent: verbal, written & spoken. Another European/Asian language is an advantage.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Design Degree (Architecture, Interior Design or Industrial Design) with profound record of concept design abilities.
- 6 + years relevant experience in retail development and design
- 2 + years working with Global markets or 1+ years working in a top tier adidas market
- Design agency experience is an advantage
