In the Conrad Big Data team, we develop and operate a platform that serves as the basis for data exchange, reports, analysis and AI. Keywords such as high-performance, scalable, central data storage, company-wide usability, provision of data for internal and external apps, self-service, etc. drive us every day. Agility, an iterative approach, continuous improvement and open feedback are on our agenda.
Your contribution to success
- Leading co-design and further development of the strategic system architecture of the Big Data platform, taking into account future requirements and technological trends.
- Provide technical leadership and support to the development team by conducting code reviews, mentoring and providing expertise on complex technical challenges.
- Design and implementation of new features, services and applications for our Big Data platform
- Maintenance of existing services. Ensuring the stable and secure operation of the Big Data Platform through proactive patch management and implementation of security best practices
- Optimization of the Big Data Platform (micro-services)
- Continuous improvements through a lively feedback culture in the team
Your success factors
- Degree in computer science or a comparable qualification or equivalent knowledge acquired through many years of professional experience.
- At least 5 years of solid professional experience as a software developer with strong expertise in Java and/or Python.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Knowledge of microservices architectures
- Proven experience with big data technologies (streaming, e.g. Apache Kafka)
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and concepts.
- Experience with databases, SQL and NoSQL
- Basic knowledge of the front-end framework Vue.js as well as experience with cloud platforms (ideally GCP) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, IaC with Terraform/Ansible, Docker/Kubernetes) is desirable.
- Good written and spoken German and English skills
