Your Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, perform and document scientific experiments/activities, e.g. the development and qualification of in vitro cell-based and immunoassays for functional protein characterization, under moderate supervision/in collaboration with experienced team members.
Manage operational aspects in lab:
Take over responsibility for and utilize special equipment (e.g. flow cytometer) under moderate supervision; schedule and perform maintenance and qualification of analytical instruments/equipment. Contribute to the evaluation of new lab equipment.
Actively maintain laboratory inventory (e.g. chemicals, standards, consumables) within own area of responsibility.
Work according to appropriate standards as defined in Quality Manual, SOPs, ethical, health, safety, environment (HSE), and information security (ISEC) guidelines.
Provide documentation of raw data, evaluate results for method development and/or qualifications of routinely applied methods or procedures. Review and verify raw data generated by others.
Write documents, e.g. lab procedures / SOPs or study plans and reports based on templates under moderate supervision
Address and solve problems of medium complexity within own area of responsibility. Recognize, communicate and provide input to the solution of problems with higher complexity (e.g. deviations and unexpected results from experiments).
Contribute to development of new methods/processes and reproduce published methods/processes under moderate supervision or optimize existing methods/processes; contribute to the evaluation/implementation of new lab equipment/new technologies.
Perform information searches under moderate guidance. Actively participate in knowledge exchange.
Train and coach technicians, temporary employees and employees under training/education.
Collaborate within own and with other groups.
What you’ll bring to the role:
MSc in Biology, Biotechnology or related Natural Sciences, or BSc in Biology, Biotechnology or related Natural Sciences with 2 years relevant experience, or Apprenticeship (e.g. CTA, MTA)(or equivalent technical education) with 4 years relevant experience in industry or equivalent
Good communication skills in English
Advanced practical experience with cell-based bioassays as well as bioanalytical techniques (e.g. ELISA, ECL immunoassays, flow cytometry, luminescence)
Experience with assays using primary cells is a plus
Awareness for safe handling of chemicals, potentially dangerous materials
Adequate theoretical and scientific knowledge in the relevant area
Adequate knowledge of relevant software and computer tools (at least Excel, Word, PLA is a plus).
Good documentation, presentation and scientific writing skills.
Experience with working in a regulated environment is a plus
