As an Applied Data Scientist, you will play a key role in driving smart product development and portfolio management through data-driven tools and solutions. With a strong chemical and scientific background, you will bridge the gap between research and advanced analytics to create innovative solutions that shape the future of our business.

• Implementing advanced machine learning techniques and data modeling.
• Leading customer projects and contributing to R&T's digital strategy.
• Enhancing the digital platform PropheSY™ and supporting innovation initiatives.
• Aligning data science strategies with Group IT and advising on R&T requirements.
• Coordinating stakeholder needs and promoting best practices across teams.
• Supporting both cloud and on-premises solutions with scalable, efficient models.

Education & Experience

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields; or equivalent professional experience.
• Solid experience in data science within research and technology environments, ideally with exposure to the chemical, food, or flavor industry.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python and machine learning.
• Experience with Databricks, R, or KNIME.
• Basic knowledge of DevOps (Git, Docker, Bash).
• Familiarity with ModelOps tools (e.g., MLFlow) is a plus.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Proficient in German is highly desirable.

Additional Skills

• Project management experience is a plus.
• Open to new technologies and ideas.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Background in the flavor, food, or chemical industry is a strong advantage.
