Your role

Are you passionate about creating safer workplaces and driving innovation on a global scale? Join us as Head of our Global Safety Center of Excellence, Occupational Health & Safety and lead the way in shaping a world-class safety culture across our international operations.

In this high-impact role, you will:

  • Partner with corporate, regional, and site teams to align and achieve shared safety goals.
  • Enhance the Safety Elements Framework (Contractor Management, Emergency Response, Audits & Inspections, and more).
  • Provide expert guidance for high-risk mitigation and safety programs (Golden Rules, Lessons Learned, Hot Sites Turnaround).
  • Oversee root cause analysis for recordable and severe incidents.
  • Revitalize and embed the Golden Rules & Lessons Learned cycle in field operations.
  • Develop global safety training programs and digital tools.
  • Ensure compliance with CSRD/ESG requirements and evolving regulations.
  • Benchmark externally to implement best-in-class risk management tools.
  • Represent Symrise in global safety workgroups and escalate non-compliance when needed.

About you

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience in global health and safety leadership within manufacturing or industrial settings
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing large, dispersed teams
  • Strategic thinker with a drive for innovation and continuous improvement
  • Expertise in international safety regulations and standards
  • Lean/Six Sigma and change management experience
  • Fluent in English; additional languages (Spanish, French, Portuguese, German) are a plus
