As a DevOps Engineer, you will ensure that our processes are efficient, automated, and future-proof. You will support the entire development cycle—from the initial idea through implementation to going live. You will not only focus on the technical implementation but also think further: How can infrastructures be built more intelligently? Where can automation help? Which technologies are best for scalable architectures? You will particularly contribute your extensive knowledge of NixOS , Colmena , Terranix , and OpenStack .
In customer projects, you will use your expert knowledge to manage and optimize self-hosted infrastructures with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), as well as to continuously develop Nix-based development environments and CI workflows .

The focus here is on:

• NixOS : You have extensive knowledge of NixOS, particularly in the areas of system-wide configuration management and declarative infrastructure. You understand how to set up and maintain systems consistently and reproducibly.
• Colmena : You can use Colmena efficiently to orchestrate cluster deployments and roll out configuration changes securely and in a coordinated manner.
• Terranix : You use Terranix specifically to combine NixOS with Terraform and to extend and automate Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) approaches.
• OpenStack : You are familiar with OpenStack as a cloud environment, can provision instances, manage networks and make infrastructure scalable and resilient.

  Our salary range is between €75,000 and €110,000, but your performance is worth every cent to us – if you're more talented, you'll earn more.

Your skill checklist

• Practical experience rather than a purely academic background:
  A university degree isn't required. What's important is that you've already made independent technology decisions and implemented projects using two or three programming languages, especially Go. You should also enjoy learning new topics.

• Technical expertise & decisiveness:
  You can understand, structure, and implement complex technical concepts. You have the ability to independently familiarize yourself with new topics while maintaining a clear overview.

• Communication skills:
  You can express yourself confidently in professional discussions in German and English and represent yourself clearly and confidently in both languages – both in team and customer contact.

• Analytical and solution-oriented thinking:
  You are enthusiastic about innovative technologies and have the ability to use them in a targeted manner in consulting and development processes.
