About
We are a young, interdisciplinary research group located at Center for Energy and Environmental Chemistry Jena (CEEC Jena) - University Jena. Our mission is to create applicable systems for the production of green hydrogen and solar fuels from sunlight and water. To this end, we integrate catalysis research tightly with process development and cost as well as sustainability assessment.

Your tasks
Together with members from our team, you will develop open-source tools for the sustainability assessment (life-cycle assessment, LCA) of hydrogen production and CO2 conversion. Building on the pyH2A ( https://github.com/jschneidewind/pyh2a ) framework that is actively being developed in our group, you will implement new features and maintain the code base. The programming will be mainly in Python and using GitHub for collaborative work.
Your profile
- Bachelor or Master student in computer science/data analysis or a related field
- Proficiency in Python programming, including for collaborative work (using GitLab/GitHub)
- Teamwork and communication skills, growth mindset and passion for open source software development
- Good command of written and spoken English (German proficiency is not required)
- Enrolled at a German university (Bachelor or Master)
