Your Job:

Develop and refine detailed models of power electronics and their control systems for stationary battery storage applications
-
Focus on system identification and parameter optimization using experimental data from laboratory setups
-
Validate models through targeted measurements and structured testing procedures
-
Analyse loss mechanisms and system efficiencies under various operating conditions
-
Couple the power electronics model with electrochemical battery models
-
Support efforts towards hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) integration of the developed models
-
Collaborate with project partners and contribute to regular coordination meetings
- Document findings in internal reports and publish results in high-quality scientific journals
Your Profile:
-
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a strong focus on power electronics and control technology as well as a subsequent PhD in a related field, ideally involving system modelling and/or power electronic systems

Proven experience in modelling and simulation, with strong skills in mathematics
- Highly proficient in Matlab/Simulink for system modelling

Experience with (stationary) battery storage systems is required

Prior exposure to HIL systems is a strong advantage

Independent, structured, and precise working style
-
High level of commitment and eagerness to take responsibility and contribute own ideas
-
Strong ability to work in a team
- Good communication skills in spoken and written English; German is an advantage

The position is initially for a fixed term of 2 years, with possible long-term prospects. Salary and social benefits will conform to the provisions of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service (TVöD-Bund), pay group 13, depending on the applicant’s qualifications and the precise nature of the tasks assigned to them.
