HiWi Position – Requirements and Expectations

We are looking for a motivated HiWi student to support our ongoing work in electronics development. The position requires 39 hours of work per month and is intended for candidates who already possess strong practical and theoretical skills in electronics—this is not a training position. Applicants must have a solid academic background in electronics, with a grade in electronics courses of 1.2 or better. In addition, practical industry experience in circuit board design and simulation are essential. Candidates should demonstrate at least one year of hands-on experience with PCB soldering, specifically with SMD components, and must have a strong working knowledge of impedance matching within PCB layouts. Familiarity with the full workflow of circuit design, from schematic creation to layout optimization, is expected. The position also requires good documentation skills. The HiWi should be able to clearly and systematically record the work they have performed, ensuring that designs and processes remain transparent and reproducible. This role is well suited for students who can work independently, contribute their expertise, and apply their practical know-how to complex electronic tasks.
