As part of the Robot Hub Academy project, the Institute for Robotics and Autonomous Systems is exploring a RobOps platform – a framework based on DevOps principles for the continuous development, distribution, orchestration, and monitoring of robotic applications – to improve the usability of robotic systems in education.
The goal is to make robotic software systems as modular, testable, and scalable as is already established in traditional software development (DevOps). Both traditional and AI-supported components will be automatically managed, distributed, and monitored via cloud/edge infrastructures. Area of responsibilityincludes, for example, Kubernetes, Docker, ROS2 and CI/CD approaches

- Conception and further development of a RobOps framework for distributed robot systems
- Development of automated CI/CD pipelines for robotic software, including testing, simulation and deployment.
- Integration of heterogeneous robot systems (stationary/mobile) into a cloud/edge-based execution environment
- Development of monitoring and logging tools for AI-powered robotics workloads
- Presentation in teaching
- Supporting ongoing research and industry projects by providing reproducible development environments
- Long-term employment and salary prospects with regular pay increases and classifications based on professional experience. Depending on your personal qualifications, you will receive a salary according to pay grade 13 TV-L.

- Completed university degree (Master's/Diploma) in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics or comparable field
- Solid knowledge of DevOps technologies (e.g., Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with robotic software frameworks (e.g., ROS2) and distributed system architecture
- Enthusiasm for system-level robotics, infrastructure automation and AI-based applications
- Independent, structured work style and teamwork skills
- Good German and English skills, both written and spoken. The employment is initially limited until 30.09.2026.
