Job description
You will be responsible for conducting future oriented (prospective) environmental life cycle sustainability assessments (P-LCA) as well as economic and social sustainability analyses (LCC, Social-LCA) for new and emerging energy storage technologies, including data collection, analysis and interpretation. In this context, you will develop tools, models, energy scenarios and databases to support sustainability assessments and life cycle assessment activities. Co-supervision of academic theses and the publication of research findings also form part of your responsibilities.
You have:
- A completed university degree (Master’s) with a completed doctorate in engineering, natural or environmental sciences
- Several years of professional experience in forward-looking sustainability assessments, particularly in prospective life cycle assessment (P-LCA), but also life cycle costing (LCC) and social LCA
- Sound experience with LCA software such as openLCA, Brightway, Activity Browser and energy scenario modelling
- Knowledge in the field of energy technology, energy systems, raw material extraction and chemical processes
- Excellent command of English; knowledge of German is an advantage
- Proven experience in writing reports and scientific publications
- Strong organisational and communication skills
