Beschreibung
The second emphasis is on the human aspect of decision-making, where our research questions center around how individual behaviors, social dynamics, and environmental factors shape security outcomes. In our work we apply experiments and data analysis to understand and predict decision-making in cybersecurity contexts. By combining these perspectives, we aim to gain a deeper understanding and improve cybersecurity both technically and socially. Requirements
• Interest in human behavior, decision-making, game theory or cybersecurity
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Experience with programming (Python, C++) and data analysis tools (e.g., R, Python, Stata, or similar) is an asset
• Familiarity with experimental methods or survey design is a plus
• Familiarity with production processes and security protocols is an advantage
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and German Start/Duration/Working Hours
Start at the earliest possible date with at least 20 hours/month (maximum 32 hours/month); flexible working hours by arrangement (e.g., during exam periods). Application Process and Inquiries

Welcome to the KASTEL Security Research Labs and the Topic "Engineering Secure Systems” (ESS) of the Helmholtz Association. We are looking for a motivated student assistant to support our ongoing research in the
economics of cybersecurity.
