Beschreibung
• Design and fabrication of a microreactor for rapid heating and cooling of NMR samples
• Characterization of the structure through simulation of flow and heat flux properties Desired skills:
• Ability to work independently
• Bachelor‘s degree in (mechanical) engineering or related field
• CAD modeling (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)
• CFD simulations (COMSOL, Ansys Fluent, etc.)
• Experience in design and manufacturing of microstructures
• Ideally background in process engineering, heat transfer, hydraulics, fluid mechanics or chemical engineering
• Good communication skills in English or German (German is a plus, but not required)
• Deeper understanding of chemistry and experience in NMR is not required We offer:
• Work up to 37 hours per month (4-month contract, extension or subsequent master's thesis possible)
• Work independently, partially remotely and flexibly on project Starting period:
• As soon as possible Long-term prospects:
• Minimum term of 4 months; further extensions are possible and preferred Application requirements:

Beschreibung
Our research group at the Institute for Microstructure Technology (IMT) focuses on the development of microsystems that contribute to advantages in magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) as well as their applications for biologically relevant molecules. NMR is a powerful tool for detecting and investigating molecular structures and opens up a wide range of specialized application areas. The interdisciplinary combination of NMR and microstructures opens up new possibilities for specific physical requirements and tailored applications.
