What you'll build

We are looking for a working student helping us with the implementation and evaluation of recent research results in the agentic AI literature and their adoption within an SAP context. Our team focuses on building, analyzing and benchmarking (multi-)agent systems according to the newest research insights. In your role, you will be supporting the team by quickly building prototypes reproducing experimental findings from the literature. It is also expected that you will experiment and assess new programming techniques like vibe coding for acceleration of this prototyping processes. You will investigate code quality and purpose of the created code, for which you should bring a strong analytical understanding of software engineering with you.
You will be part of a team assigned to a newly created frontrunner project. As such you should be open to adapt to a dynamically evolving environment and frequent changes of operational strategies.

Required skills

• Student (f/m/d) at a university or university of applied sciences
• Prior expertise with artificial intelligence and machine learning, knowledge of agent-based systems is a plus
• Good programming skills in at least one programming language (more is better)
• Experience with software development
• Fluency in German or English
• Working form Karlsruhe or Walldorf 2-3 times a week is required

Preferred skills

• Preferred field of study: Informatics, Mathematics or similar
• Proficiency with software design and architecture
• Interest to experiment with new techniques like vibe coding
• Ability to communicate accurately and proactively
• Team player with a collaboration mindset

By exploring architectures where autonomous agents dynamically manage and optimize business processes, the group is redefining how organizations interact with technology - shifting from direct application use to a model where human involvement centers on strategic oversight, guidance, and exception handling.
