Job Description
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to join the finance team of ArcelorMittal Mining (Luxembourg). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable, financial accounting, and reporting under both IFRS and LuxGAAP standards. This role requires a strong understanding of group accounting policies, financial systems (particularly SAP and BPM), and internal controls, including SOx compliance.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a multinational environment and will be comfortable working with complex data flows between systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice verification and payment review.
• Perform financial accounting and reporting in compliance with IFRS and LuxGAAP.
• Understand and implement group accounting policies and governance updates.
• Maintain and update SAP in line with system evolutions and business needs.
• Follow up on ageing payables and receivables.
• Reconcile bank accounts, TSR (factoring services), and payroll.
• Prepare accruals and provisions for monthly and quarterly closings.
• Input financial data into BPM software for group consolidation (knowledge of BPM required).
• Perform SOx controls for the Luxembourg entity.
• Resolve intercompany balance discrepancies.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the general ledger and financial reporting structure.
• Create and reconcile ad hoc reports using data from SAP.
• Understand and troubleshoot data imports/exports between SAP, BPM, Treasury, and other systems.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8 years of experience in a similar accounting role, ideally in an international environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, LuxGAAP.
• Proficiency in SAP and BPM.
• Familiarity with SOx compliance and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to deliver in a timely-manner.
• Interest in Mining.
• Effective communication skills in English; other languages are a plus.
