Electronics Engineer for Prototypes in Research

Your Responsibilities
The Miba Machine Shop-team design, manufacture, assemble, and test specialized mechanical and electronic devices for use in experimental research groups at ISTA. With us, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the broad spectrum of technical solutions in the scientific fields of physics, chemistry, and biology, and to advance innovation using state-of-the-art technologies.
- Development of electronic prototypes for laboratory use in close collaboration with our scientists
- Design and simulation of electronic circuits to provide analysis report and give recommendations for improvement
- Plan and conduct RF/DC testing, (PCB) circuit analysis, trouble shooting, modeling, failure duplication and device analysis down to the component level
- Testing and commissioning of newly designed and approved electronic devices
- Evaluation, modification, and repair of laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, electronic microscopes, manipulators)
- Full design documentation and configuration control of released products
Your Profile
- Completed degree/diploma in electronics (HTL, TU, FH)
- Work experience in prototyping design the field of electronics and in PCB design with Eagle
- Work experience in a research environment is of advantage
- In-depth knowledge of microcontroller programming (Arduino)
- Ability to use lab equipment such as meters, oscilloscopes, function generators etc.
- Good communication skills in German and English (The institute's language is English)
- Creative and independent way of working, flexibility, and a strong service orientation
