Expert for Governance, Risk and Controls (GRC)

Your Responsibilities
At ISTA, we are committed to enhancing our governance, risk, and control (GRC) functions to support organizational integrity and success. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a GRC Expert. This newly created role offers a tremendous opportunity for growth, with the mid-term perspective to take over the lead for this area within our organization.
- Support the current project lead in the development of an enhanced integrated Governance, Risk and Control (GRC) Program at ISTA and take over the institute-wide responsibility for this topic afterwards in approx. 2 years
- Maintain up-to-date GRC policy, procedures and other GRC relevant governance documents
- Conduct periodic Risk Assessments and Internal Control Evaluations
- Administer ISTA Risk and Control Libraries in the designated GRC System (currently SAP Signavio)
- Communicate effectively with all internal stakeholders on ongoing initiatives
Your Profile
- University degree or equivalent (fields of business, education, science)
- This position is also open to career changers who have already gained experience in cross-organizational areas such as finance, controlling, or project and process management
- Familiarity with international risk and control management frameworks (COSO, ISO) is an asset
- Prior experience working for a research centre or an academic institution is an asset
- Interest in developing professional expertise in the field of GRC
- Motivated mind-set and science curious personality
- Analytical skills and structured way of thinking and working
- Ability to work independently as well as with a cross-functional team
- Excellent communication skills with ability to focus and the patience to explain
- Business fluency in English; a good command of German is advantageous
